Storm Before the Calm

The pendulum swings
between darkness and light

Righteousness dithers
as chaos gains might

On the horizon,
A beacon of hope

Between here and there,
A perilous road

The ground cracks beneath
feet so weary, so worn

The sky splits apart
as old fears are reborn

The fabric of being
is warped outside-in

Dizzying columns
rise up from within

Mere hours ’till sunrise
when photons absolve

Do not be erased
by this storm before the calm
